The long-awaited Nirvana box set ‘With The Lights Out’ will feature 68 previously unreleased recordings.
To be released on November 23, the four-disc set will feature 81 tracks including 68 previously unreleased recordings-rehearsals, outtakes, frontman Kurt Cobain’s home demos, as well as a DVD which is confirmed to have unreleased band home movies, live footage, rehearsal footage and 20 full-length video performances. A 60-page booklet will accompany the release.
The title is a reference to a lyric in ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.
A source told NME.com: “I’ve seen some of the footage and it’s amazing stuff. There’s a video of them performing at a friend’s party with Kurt reading lyrics off a sheet of paper on the wall, footage of them covering ‘Seasons In The Sun’ in a studio with Kurt on drums and lots of other great stuff.”
The artwork for the set is currently being put together, with the likely choice being a ‘landscape’ box.

The buzz is only getting louder…
Following a successful CD release party at The Cutting Room, NYC, word is spreading – this is a whole different side of Alison.
\”I wanted to have fun this time around,\” she says of her genre-switching sophomore album, one that focuses more on the rock side of folk-rock. \”I wanted to make a record that was reflective of my life at that moment – the relationships I was in, the music I was listening to, and the games I was playing.\”
The album, aptly titled The Game, does just that. A witty collection of 11 songs, The Game describes relationships in all forms – playful, contentious, unrequited, sexual, loving, and newly born. Both tough and vulnerable, it is an edgy portrayal of a girl taking encounters into her own hands, turning the tables, and playing the games we all know so well.
Alison is no stranger to these experiences she describes in her lyrics. Born in the suburbs of Chicago and raised in Long Island, New York, Alison learned early on to combine the tough, free-speaking attitude of New York with a Midwestern sweetness. Not afraid to show her vulnerability, she expresses her emotions with abandon – in tune with listeners’ desires to connect and empathize with an artist and music. Her ever-evolving style has adopted the edge that wisdom has provided through the years, and it carries into the theme and feel of The Game, making it a compelling listen.
Expressing emotion through music comes easily to Alison, who has been singing since the age of four. Classically trained throughout her schooling, she tested her skills in various forms of performance: opera, musical theater, and contemporary folk. Bearing the cold and snow, Alison ventured to the University of Michigan where she studied music and psychology. It was there that she expanded her musical strengths, teaching herself to play the guitar. She soon discovered a penchant for songwriting. A poet at heart, Alison finally had a vocal outlet for her intense writings. The songs, a selection of ten written between 1996 and 1998, make up her debut album, The Good Person’s Angel (recorded and released in August 2001).
Alison returned home to New York in 2000, where she has been working steadily at her craft. She finds her inspiration in her everyday life and from the lively city around her, which goes directly to her songs and fuels her live performances. The embodiment of her passion for her art and the honesty of her experiences make her a powerful watch. Audiences are riveted, offering pin-drop silence during a song and rousing applause afterward. Never one to play the same show twice, Alison regularly keeps her fans surprised with new songs or revamped versions of older material. She is a presence on stage – a light many can relate to and admire with equal ease, who always keeps her listeners coming back for more.
With The Game tucked under her belt, Alison Breitman is poised for success as an artist with an incomparable voice and a whole lot to say. This is a different side of Alison, one that brings a new level of energy to an already impressive body of work.
And the future only promises to reveal even more facets of this intriguingly complex and admirably talented woman.

Jeremiah Freed blends classic 70s rock, with a bit of blues and a touch of modern influences to create American rock ‘n roll at it’s best. Although the York, Maine natives (Joe Smith – vocals, Kerry Ryan – drums, Matt Cosby – bass, Nick Goodale – guitar) are just in their early twenties, their musicianship is more mature than bands twice their age. Their latest release, Slowburn, captures listener’s attention with fiery guitar solos, soulful vocals, and emotionally intense lyrics.

Australian rocker Diana Anaid’s first US single, “Last Thing,” from her debut album Beautiful Obscene, has become iTunes’ biggest Single of the Week ever.
The album, recently released in the United States on independent label Five Crowns Music, is currently among the top 25 pop albums on iTunes.
“Knowing that more people than ever before downloaded Last Thing from the iTunes site in just one week is absolutely fabulous,” said Diana, on tour in Los Angeles.
Writing songs since age nine, Diana’s music became her emotional outlet when the death of her mother sent her into a life of foster parents, charity organizations, food vouchers and uncertainty. Her unique guitar style, emotional lyrics and powerful voice have garnered Diana multiple ARIA Award nominations (Australia’s Grammy) and three Top 40 singles in her native Australia. With the release of Beautiful Obscene in the States she is poised to become the first female rocker to join the U.S. Aussie invasion that includes the likes of Jet, The Vines, The Everyones & The Living End.
Diana’s American debut is being released by music industry veteran Paul Palmer through his Five Crowns Music. Former co-owner of Trauma Records, Palmer launched the careers of No Doubt as well as Bush, and now has his support behind the raw talent of Diana Anaid.
She is currently on a cross country trip visiting radio stations and television morning shows and performing at concerts from Orlando to San Francisco. Diana has shared the stage with artists including Five for Fighting, The Calling, Gavin Degraw and Sister Hazel.

Fusing energetic, edgy modern rock with the song-based, power pop sensibilities of Cheap Trick, Foo Fighters and Butch Walker, New Jersey pop/rock quartet, Full Out Freak is a band about which no assumptions should be made. The quartetâ??s curious name actually came from lyrics in one of guitarist Willâ??s early songs. â??We dug those lyrics,â?? says Full Out Freak singer Joey, and thought the F.O.F. initials were catchy and attention grabbing. As far as giving people the wrong impression of what weâ??re about prior to hearing us, we actually liked the irony of the name implying something heavy when our sound is so energetic and melodic. Plus, weâ??re all â??Freaksâ?? in our own way, because we like to go against the grain.â??
What makes Full Out Freak different from other melodic, modern rock bands is a palpable chemistry evident in the band membersâ?? dynamic interrelation, which carries over into every aspect of the music, on stage and off. â??When the four of us got together, we knew early on that we had some very serious, undeniable chemistry,â?? says Eric. â??We felt it from our early rehearsals, and itâ??s spilled into the studio where we continue to gel in our musical collaboration.â?? Sharing a broad range of influences from The Beatles, Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin to The Black Crows, Janeâ??s Addiction and Lenny Kravitz, the music of Full Out Freak features blended vocal harmonies, punchy, memorable choruses, muscular guitar riffs, super tight instrumental interplay and universally appealing lyrical messages.
A band and crowd favorite, the playful â??Loser Anywayâ?? features bright guitar hooks and soaring Beatle-esque harmonies. The songâ??s title also has a dual meaning. Joey explains, â??Loser Anywayâ?? is also â??Lose Her Anyway.â?? We\’ve all had a friend who keeps going back to a girl whoâ??s taking him for a ride. That song was written for someone we know who was in that situation.â?? On â??What Itâ??s Worth,â?? Full Out Freak show a flair for penning poignant relationship-based songs that recalls hit makers like Matchbox Twenty and 3 Doors Down. The band also proves itâ??s unafraid of ripping guitar solos and cascading group harmonies on â??Iâ??ll Be Damned,â?? a relentlessly melodic tune recalling Cheap Trick at the top of its game. These songs and many more are featured on the groupâ??s first full-length CD, to be released in the summer of 2004. Pending a distribution deal, the as-yet untitled disc will be available via the bandâ??s website and at live shows.
With www.fulloutfreak.com getting hits from all over the US (and as far away globally as Germany and Japan), Full Out Freak is building a devoted fan base beyond the tri-state area. â??We\’ve gotten the coolest feedback through our website,â?? says Eric. â??We get these amazing emails from kids whoâ??ve seen our website or heard one of our songs on a local radio program, and they want to know more about the band. Since we write from the heart about real experiences, I think our lyrics and the messages behind our songs really resonate with people. You canâ??t ask for more than that.â?? Full Out Freakâ??s music is currently featured on a large number of both college and major broadcast radio stations, including local outlets WRAT 95.9 (NJ) and NYCâ??s Z100. The high profile NYC rock station, Q104.3 recently included Full Out Freak as part of its Sunday evening program Out Of The Box, which showcases the music of promising unsigned bands.
Full Out Freakâ??s explosive live performances regularly grace the stages of popular NYC/ NJ venues like The Stone Pony, Arleneâ??s Grocery, Sin-e, Tribeca Rock Club, Continental and Maxwellâ??s in Hoboken. We are now being asked to open up for national acts â??Our shows have been packed,â?? says Eric. â??I think people keep coming back — and bringing their friends — because weâ??re having a blast up there and itâ??s contagious. Rock fans appreciate a band that can really go beyond a recorded performance and pull off something extra at every show.â??
As Joey, Will, Eric and Joe move forward with Full Out Freak, theyâ??ll continue writing and performing the music they love, while polishing their live show and building their fan base one convert at a time. â??Music is the central focus of our lives, â??says Will. â??What we want most is to make a living doing what we know we were put here to do.â??

Whether it’s the Soul, Funk, Jazz or Hip-Hop, there is something in Mutlu’s music that will resonate in your heart, mind and soul. Mutlu is a singer, songwriter and musician of uncommon caliber and soul. He can often be seen playing solo or with a back-up band in and around The City of Philadelphia. His soulful vibe draws comparisons to such legendary performers as Stevie Wonder, Al Green and Prince.
Although born and raised in Philadelphia, Mutlu possesses strong Turkish roots, as he is the first member of his family born in the United States. Growing up in Center City, Mutlu submersed himself in the music scene at an early age, exposing himself to some of The City’s best jazz, funk and hip-hop. These influences are clearly evident in his music, which is an eclectic blend of the city’s sounds, interwoven with elements of Turkish and world music, creating a vibe that is truly unique on today’s music scene. Mutlu is never afraid to serve up a lyrical dish such as “Break it Down”, followed by a cover of a Turkish pop song by Tarkan. Mutlu sings purely from the soul which evident on such heartfelt tracks as “Another Story Told” and “Can’t Stop”. The diversity of Mutlu’s music breathes colorful life into every one of his performances. From Turkish Pop, to hip-hop, to a soulful love ballad, there is something in Mutlu’s music for everyone, which is quite remarkable given the amount of niche artists currently dotting the modern music landscape.
